Gum disease or Phiorrea could be differentiated in two different stages, an early stage of gum disease called gingivitis and an advanced staged called periodontitis.

Gingivitis is a gum Imflammation by the plaque´s and tartar bacteria that get traped on the teeth´s base. It produces swelling and bleeding. The consequences could be redness, swelling and could bleed during brushing or on its own. Sometimes could lead to bad breath and taste.
This condition is totally reversible if taken on time. If not, could develo ponto a Periodontitis.

It´s an infection that affects teeth´s support tissues (gums,bone and periodontal ligaments).

 

It affects gums, plus the bone is also affected. It happends for the same reason of gingivitis, tartar bacteria, plus lack of oral higiene and genetical predisposition.

 

Risk factors as tobacco, stress, etc.. speed up the disease, making the final consequence, the lost of teeth, faster.

 

The treatment of Gingivitis and Periodontitis have got two importantactions, a professional and personal actions.
